Work progressing rapidly on Køge’s Zealand University Hospital, Building 2

Following the completion of the project’s first phase in December 2022 with the delivery of Building 1 of the new Zealand University Hospital in Køge (Denmark), and the relocation of the first patients, work is progressing at a steady pace for the delivery of Building 2. This second phase, currently underway, involved the demolition of the previous hospital complex and the subsequent construction of new blocks, including Building 2. It will house, among other things, the outpatient oncology center, neonatal unit, and pediatric departments. This building is now at an advanced stage of construction.

The entire project has been designed to ensure a continuous flow of services for patients and the local population, without any interruptions, even during the most delicate phases. This next milestone, scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025 and perfectly aligned with the project’s timeline, marks another step toward the completion of the entire hospital, expected in the second half of 2026. It also reflects the strong and ongoing commitment of ITINERA and the professionals involved in the project, both to the client and to the local communities.

Once completed, the facility will become the largest in the region and one of the leading hospitals in Northern Europe in terms of size and healthcare services.
