22 Nov 2022 The new Campus of the University of Turin moves forward
Works for the construction of the “City of Science and Environment“, one of the most important university building investments in Italy, moves forward. The new University of Turin’s hub dedicated to education and research is under construction in Grugliasco, a neighboring municipality of the Piedmontese capital.
The district will host 22,000 m2 of classrooms for teaching, 47,500 m2 of research spaces, 7,300 m2 of sports areas and 7,200 m2 of spaces dedicated to socialization, along with a 40,000 m2 of urban park. Once works will be completed in 2024, the “City of Science and Environment” will be able to accommodate about 10,000 users.
In 2019, the joint venture, set up by Itinera (as leader), Euroimpianti and Costruzioni Generali Gilardi, awarded the Public Private Partnership tender, which provide for the construction of the buildings and necessary works, plus the supply of the furnitures and the maintenance of the university hub for the next 20 years. The total value of the contract is 160 million euros.
